About The Founder
Dr. Shanequa N. Scott
Dr. Shanequa N. Scott is a Christian educator, visionary leader, author, and faith-driven entrepreneur whose life’s work is rooted in transformation, purpose, and service. She is the Founder, Chancellor, and President of Ascend Christian University, a Christ-centered institution established to equip students with spiritual discernment, academic excellence, leadership capacity, and the confidence to walk boldly in their God-given calling. Dr. Scott is also the founder of Ascend Academy Online High School. Ascend Christian Online High School is accredited and legally operates and is active under Florida. AAOHS was founded in March 2023. Dr. Scott accepted the change and realized GOD had bigger plans for her and her GOD purpose assignment. Dr. Scott began her journey by building AAOHS piece by piece, brick by brick, one grade level at a time. Dr. Shanequa N. Scott designed, structed, created every curriculum, workbook and course. Driven by faith and guided by vision, Dr. Scott founded Ascend Christian University to serve as a global platform for empowerment bridging education, ministry, leadership, and real-world impact. Under her leadership, the university has become known for its commitment to accessible, purpose-driven education and for cultivating graduates who are not only academically prepared, but spiritually grounded and service-oriented. Her approach to education emphasizes growth, elevation, and identity encouraging students to rise above limitations and ascend into lives of meaning, leadership, and legacy. In addition to her work in higher education, Dr. Scott is the Founder of Tierra’s Butterflies, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2025 following the tragic loss of her beloved daughter, Tierra S. W. Hamer, on September 11, 2024 (9-11-2024). Born from unimaginable grief yet sustained by unwavering faith, Tierra’s Butterflies represent the embodiment of turning pain into purpose. The nonprofit stands as a living legacy honoring Tierra’s life through compassion, advocacy, healing, and hope for children, families, and communities affected by loss, trauma, and adversity.
Through Tierra’s Butterflies, Dr. Scott channels love into action providing scholarships, outreach initiatives, and community centered programs designed to uplift, restore, and empower. The organization reflects her deep belief that even in the darkest moments, purpose can still be born and love can still rise. What was meant to break her became the foundation for service, impact, and generational change. Dr. Scott is widely recognized for her prophetic encouragement, bold leadership, and heart for people. She is a leader who celebrates others unapologetically uplifting students, graduates, leaders, and communities while consistently pointing them back to faith, identity, and purpose. Her voice carries both authority and compassion, inspiring others to believe beyond their circumstances and step fully into their divine assignment. At the core of her journey, Dr. Shanequa N. Scott is a mother, servant-leader, and visionary whose life reflects resilience, obedience, and transformation. Her story is one of faith in action where education meets ministry, where tragedy becomes testimony, and where vision is executed with excellence and integrity. Through every endeavor, her mission remains clear: to help others rise, heal, lead, and ascend into the fullness of who God created them to be.
Dr. Shanequa N. Scott is a prophetic voice, community activist, author, and the visionary founder of Broken Hearts Made Whole Ministry and Tierra’s Butterflies, a nonprofit inspired by her late daughter. A graduate of Higher Place Christian University with a Doctorate in Business Administration and Christian Leadership, she is passionate about prayer, outreach, and bridging faith with everyday life. She is an international evangelist and intercessor called to rescue the rejected and restore the broken. She travels globally to preach the gospel, and mentors hundreds through prayer and one-on-one life sessions. Her bold ministry reaches beyond church walls and into forgotten communities, spreading the love of Christ with power and compassion. She is a relentless community advocate, nonprofit leader, and mother whose life and ministry were forever transformed after the loss of her daughter Tierra to domestic violence. In her honor, Dr. Scott founded Tierra’s Butterflies, dedicating her life to outreach, empowerment, and bridging the gap between the church and secular communities.
With a Doctorate in Business Administration and Christian Leadership, Dr. Shanequa N. Scott has worked in the healthcare industry since 2013 and holds numerous medical licenses. She is also a published author, televangelist, and the founder of two life- changing organizations focused on healing and hope. Her ministry blends professional excellence with spiritual purpose.
Known as God’s Prophet, Dr. Shanequa N. Scott has an international prayer ministry that reaches hundreds daily. Her calling to intercession has taken her around the world,
delivering healing and hope to the hurting. She offers one-on-one mentorship, prophetic
guidance, and a bold message of restoration to the lost and broken.
She is the founder and Chancellor of Ascend Christian University, Ascend Academy
